Things Easton Will Never Experience…

Last night my family and I were talking about how much things have changed because of technology. My parents were reminiscing about how when they were at Goulder Electric (back in the day) they used to have pagers and CB radios for the office staff to communicate with the guys in the field. Can you imagine still being stuck with that old technology? Think about how much longer things took back then and how hard it was to get in contact with someone right when you needed them. Do you remember having to wait until you got home to check your email? With the advancements in technology we can now be in two places at the same time, we can be in constant communication and collaboration has never been easier.

When you stop and think about it, isn’t it crazy how much the world has changed in the last 20 years thanks to technology? As a little kid I ran around outside until the street lights came on, and in middle school I remember those awkward calls to my friends homes to see if they were allowed to talk on the phone. Kids are now glued to their own personal Smartphone and iPad. Have you been to a family friendly restaurant lately? If so, you probably noticed Johnny playing Angry Birds on his device while waiting for dinner. What happened to the coloring page and Crayolas??

As many of you know, we are expecting a little boy just about any time now. This topic got me thinking about all the things he will never even know, or experience, because they are either becoming outdated already, or will be obsolete by the time he reaches his formative years.
